Chapter 7: Reassignment T’Kov stepped down from the platform and followed Captain Satak out of the room. Lukas did the same as he stood up from his seat and exited the room. As he walked alongside T’Kov, trailing behind the Captain, he periodically glanced at her face only to see that her expression was not consistent. One moment, her lips were turned upward and her eyes were wide with presumed excitement. The next, she was frowning and droplets were forming from the corners of her eyes. Clearly she was trying to maintain the unimpassioned “default” face of the other Vulcans, but the position of her eyes and mouth kept shifting, as if she couldn’t decide what emotion she was feeling. She had returned to her neutral face by the time the two of them reached Satak’s quarters to find the door already open. T’Kov cleared the stray hairs away from her face and tucked them behind her ears as the two stepped inside. There, they found the Captain sitting silently at his desk. His eyes were
